But is that still the case?

As the new stock of NL is now SN, but TD is labelled the same as before.

TD doesn't have SN specs listed as that is a petrol spec.

I would need to look at a bottle in the to check which diesel specs it meets.

At least we all know that they are top grade oils.

I still find it strange that they sell both, but there must be a market for it otherwise they wouldn't do it.

The Turbo Diesel oil is SN:

Here is the New Life SN oil:

Yes, they are identical.

BUT I can't find it on the Mobil US page, only TDT 5/40, which might account for the lack of available info.

This gives a UOA series for normal M1 0/40, which is different in add pack terms to 5/40 TD:
M1 0/40 UOA series

The big difference is that Magnesium is partly replacing Calcium detergents and the lack of Moly with the TD 5/40, so I figure the TD 0/40 might have similar additives unless Mobil are pulling a fast one and there is no difference.

A time ago I spoke with Mobil1 technical service (Netherlands)
He said 0W40 turbodiesel is NOT exactly the same as 0W40 new life.
There are small differences in formulation he said.
