My truck started started bump shifting from a stop, so I checked the fluid level. It was over full by quite a bit on the dipstick. This is why the bump shifting started, but I couldn't figure out why it was over full.
I checked my service spreadsheet and it turns out that I did a filter change and flush, ran 16437 miles, added AutoRx, then forgot it was in there
So how many miles was the AutoRx in there? 7612!
So what did this do to my transmission? Nothing! Just cleaned it real well
I did a filter change and then flushed the unit today with 10 quarts of Castrol Mercon V. The pan was spotless. No shavings, metal, or friction material of any kind. Magnet was almost completely clean too. Only thing that was different was that the fluid was darker when it came out. Took it for a short test drive and no more bump shift like I expected.
So if you leave AutoRx in a little too long, it shouldn't hurt anything
