Its only ten cents more here 6.99 and thats regular price, never goes on sale, but I dont use it. I use Mobil 1. FYI- German Castrol is the only oil I ever tried that helped with oil consumption.

Don't rub it in smile

Unfortunately all petroleum products are much more here in Canada. And yet our dollar is worth more, go figure mad

I'd be curious what German Castrol would be like in a very small engine like a Fiesta, Mazda 2 or Honda Fit.

How much would it affect MPG? Would it be bad for the engine being almost 40wt?

But the thought of all that viscosity and high quality base stocks and resistance to damage from fuel dilution, you could probably do a 2 year OCI on the stuff with low mile city driving.

Current fill of GC in our 2001 Impala has 18 months and 6K miles. Probably will be around 24 months when it gets changed.

And BTW, this is the second fill of GC and after 300 miles on the first fill GC did stop oil leakage to the point that there is almost never any smell of oil burning off, and the dip stick still reads full. Mobil Drive Clean 5000 5W-30 leaked / burned / used one quart every 2K miles.

Yes, I've been wondering as well about putting it in a Civic with a 2.0. When I had M1-0w40 in it, it felt sluggish. I didn't have it in long enough to check mpg since it was so sluggish. I got it out of there. Since that was a light 40 I would assume it would be similar in a heavy 30. One day I'll probably try it.
