Dumb propeller question.

I LOVE the Extra 300. Such a fun aircraft to fly.
 
What about counter rotating props? They don't make any sense to me since it would appear that the amount of turbulence with one prop turning the opposite direction as the one in front of it. Unless the front props' pitch is different from the rear.
 
The 5 blades should have Q"" tips to decrease noise and ressonation. But that would decrease cruise performance ... It's always a trade off.
 
Behold the propeller... for they are a sinuous, multi-curved, three
dimensional sculpture an artifact of functional beauty. have you
hugged a prop lately???
