This engine in stock form is a very problematic child, I have a 10' 350 with the 6.4. I am tuned and deleted and run mobil1 5w40 and my UOA's look perfect, Blackstone says that at 5,000 miles on my oil its still good enought to go another 2-3k miles.fuel is 0 and wear metals great!

That makes sense. These engines do fine in Navistar trucks, but when they went in Ford trucks, all of a sudden they're maintenance nightmares? I have heard many times that it's the Ford emissions control equipment that makes them unreliable.
