Added Auto-RX to my wife’s Pontiac Grand AM SE 4/cyl with 91,102 total miles. Should I do the under 100,000 or over 100,000 miles application?
Car runs very good, Idles a little rough, gets decent MPG and burns about half a qrt every 3,000 miles. No oil leaks & she don’t smoke, noticeably anyways. Never done a UOA but we have run reg dino oil through it every 3,000 miles since we bought her approx 51,000 miles ago. After the rinse phase I would like to go synthetic and extended OCI of 7,500 to 10,000 miles. I plan on doing regular UOA after the rinse. I just added the cheapest oil I could find to start the RX process, Lubraguard 10W30 @ .89 ea and a cheap Fram filter. I want to know what everyone thinks would be the best synthetic oil to use for the 10,000 mile intervals. We now live in the south, extremely hot and humid summers, but very mild winters.
