An engine flush I have contains naphtha.

Is naphtha anything like kerosene?

Which is the better internal engine cleaner, naphtha or kerosene?

Can they be mixed?

I would think you would be better to use something with an oil base
I have used diesel fuel for a few years with no problems.
Be sure to use one qt.or less.
Do not gun the engine or
drive the car.

What effect would using diesel, naphta, kerosene etc...based flushes have on intake manifold gaskets and other internal engine seals?

Seafoam engine flush has been around for years and is a pale oil, naptha, and isopropyl alcohol blend.

Naptha is commonly used as a solvent and is more volatile than kerosene. Naptha will have a more aggressive effect on deposits than kerosene.

As far as seals, any standard nitrile or buna-N rubber used for gasoline applications will also perform well with other petroleum distillates, such as naptha or kerosene. Engine seals are typically higher temp formulations of the standard nitrile blends.
