The TBN values sure drop quickly. Silicon is much lower on a per mile basis so hopefully that possible filtration issue will stay resolved.

Seems as quiet as it has ever been, but it isn't a fair test. There is a bottle of Lubegard Biotech in it (bought a case from work) which has a boatload of organic moly and zddp in an ester base oil.

Wear rates per thousand miles are about the same, except for copper.
Silicon has come down nicely, so air filtration is now apparently okay.
I would have expected Maxlife full syn to show a little better TBN retention on such a short run.
Really, if Maxlife syn is only a 5K oil in this engine as your mom drives it, you might as well have used Maxlife SB or FAR Nextgen Maxlife.
The flat six is a neat and a strong engine.
Any Subaru with the flat six is a sort of secret quick car.
