All I can find in the owners guide is for my driving its a 7500 mi interval for the 2.0 Skyactiv , 2.5L and my 2.3L turbo . Think that is correct ? The only thing I can find by searching is a 5000 mile analysis showing the oil looked pretty good after 5K .

I am planning on doing a 4.5K - 5K I think

I get very good UOAs on the 2.3L turbo DI Mazda CX7 engine (2007) using a 6,000 mile Oil & filter change. Suburban driving. My CX7 owners manual has 5,000 & 7,500 mile OCI. PP oil & OEM/Wix filters.

Personally I wouldnt go more than 5k miles in that but plenty of people do I'm sure.

me being ocd I'd probably do a change at 2k, 5k then 10k

and at 10k since almost all the transmission wear is done.. I'd change that to get the break-in wear particles out.

Xw -40 is not appproved and may screw up the waraanty on a new vehicle. I changed to PP5w30 at 2.5K then 6,000, and every 6K after. The last UOA suggested that 7.5K would be OK. Now at 62,000 and have 3 UOAs to back up my decision. There is no reason and no data to suggest that the factory recomendations should be ignored.( My 2007 CX7 DI turbo engine) Ed

My 2008.5 had 2.8% fuel dilution on it's last UOA after 3400 miles on PP 5W-30. The oil was black, thin and smelled strongly of gasoline. The viscosity had dropped down into the xW-20 range and of course the FP was below spec. The oil still had 5.6 TBN. I run a lot of short trips-4 miles to work.

For this car and the way I drive it, oil goes no further than 4000 miles. I'd say do a couple of UOAs after break-in.
