Detroit Series 60 14.0L (No EGR) 600 bhp / 1950lb-ft
Rotella T3 15W40 + Rotella Triple Protection Add Oil
Capacity: 10 gallons (Rotella T3 15W40)
Add Oil: 4 gallons (Rotella Triple Protection 15W40) Has consumed about 1 qt every 4000-5000 miles since new.
Now also has small leak at rear. Will repair at clutch replacement time.

I wish my car could go this long.

Is this oil still in service? If not, what condemnation limit had it reached?
 
It was tested after the oil change. The Donaldson P552100 Oil Filters were 595 gallons of Fuel past due. A set of Donaldson ELF3998 Filters would allow up to 10,000 gallons of fuel use (80,000 miles) before changing of filters.

All parameters were Condition 0 (On a 0-5 Scale).

It was closest on TBN. TBN was 5.0. Condemnation limit is TBN of 3.5 (1/3 of Virgin).

20k more would have been pretty easy from those numbers. Did you take any samples prior to this one?

Original Fill was 10 gallons of Rotella T3 15W40 (Bulk Fleet)

Add Oil was 4 gallons of Rotella Triple Protection 15W40 (Retail Gal Jug).

Roughly 2.5 gallons of that was likely consumed and the rest leaked from cracked silicon sealer between block and bell housing (Detroits have a rear cavity that equalizes pressure and allows oil return from top-end to pan). Will repair at clutch replacement time (trans has to be pulled).

I had been changing at 30,000-36,000 miles and was seeing around 5.6-6.5 TBN.

The engine now has Chevron Delo 400 LE Synthetic 5W40 in it. Im planning on starting sampling at 40,000 miles...
