See, a great example of how the typewritten word can screw up a fun conversation!

You're right, I missed it completely.

But now I can laugh at it.

I personally don't like the AFB style Edelbrock carbs because I could never get them to run properly. I have two sitting on my shelf in the garage that are probably 14-15 years old that I bought new back in the day. A 1406 and a 1411. Both of them had a bad stumble off idle that I could never correct. I even bought the kit for the 1411 that had all of the different jets and rods but still could not get it to run right. They also both ran real rich.

I used the 1406 on a stock 350 and the 1411 on a mostly stock 396. I finally bought an Edelbrock quadrajet that they used to make and the car then ran great and is the carb that is still on the car to this day. I wish they still made these.

I've always had the best luck with Quadrajets for some reason and are what I have the most experience with.
