Thanks for posting!!

Like I said in the Delo 40 thread (before I saw this one!), that is probably closer to a 15W-30.

Would be an excellent oil for summer use in almost ANY application.

Just picked some up at Gibson's Discount Center (yeah there is still one around in Weatherford, TX). It was $11.70 for a gallon and $3.79 per qt. I'm thinking about running it in my old truck to help clean out some of the crud left from a bad PCV valve

I'm resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has a recent VOA of this oil. I have a case of it, bottle in 2015. It's CF rated only, but I believe it's the same oil with a different label.

I don't think most of the BITOG crowd is into mono grades any more (me excepted). I have a thread going over in PCMO.

While this thread was unfolding, I came across Chevron's release blurb for their "new" Delo 15W-30 Severe Duty (SD) oil. The speculation is that it's updated 30 HD with more Grp III+ base stocks...

Something along Addguy's comments above

I too would be interested in more information and an up to date VOA on Delo SAE 30.

Over here we get Caltex (Chevron) Delo Silver SAE 30, according to the spec sheet I found it is rated API CF / SJ and has a TBN of 6.8 with 940 ppm Zinc. Much lighter add pack than the VOA above. Still has the same KV 100 of 11.5 cSt.

I can get it at an reasonable price, so I'm thinking of giving it a run.
Do you think it should be OK for 6000 mi / 10,000KM in a regular 4-cylinder petrol car (non-DI and non-turbo) ?

Yeah, most of BITOG could care less, but I'm no longer interested in what most of BITOG is into. I decided to use this Delo over the Liqui Moly, and if no one chimes in soon I'm going to take a sample and have it analyzed. My batch was bottled 7/16/15, and is only showing API CF, and no longer SL or the builder's approvals this sample listed. I suspect it's the same or similar now, and Chevron is just saving some pennies by not having to pay the licensing fees for both API SL and CF, and are also trying to get people to buy there other dual rated mutigrades. Nothing wrong with that. Also, a PDS on Chevron's website, dated 9/21/15, says the monogrades are still dual purpose and list the aforementioned builder's approvals that are missing from the bottle.

According to the pds I found, current delo sae 30 has approx 1200 zn, 1100 p.

I was interested in it for the bug because it is about 20 cst less than 15w40 at 40c (95 vs 115) and very inexpensive.

I tried 15w30 but it leaks like crazy. 5w40 and 15w40 don't.

Yeah, same reason I'm looking at it.

GTX 15W-40 (Oz stuff - current fill)
KV 40 = 113 cSt and KV 100 = 14.5 cSt

Delo Silver SAE 30 (Oz stuff)
KV 40 = 90 cSt and KV 100 = 11.5 cSt

The Oz Delo Silver is cheaper than GTX here. The levels are a bit low, TBN = 6.8 and Zn = 940ppm compared to the American Delo, but it's still more zinc than a typical ILSAC oil, and enough TBN for 6 months / 5k miles. It should be a good summer oil for me.

1200 Zinc and 1100 Phosphorus aren't bad at all. Would like to know the Boron levels too. How do I go about getting in touch with Blackstone for a VOA kit?
