He sure sounds a lot more focused than the other guy, doesn't he?
He also zoomed right in on several of the same things I did, such as that little mpg meter- sorry, I don't *care* if the car gets 99 mpg for 1/8 mile on a straight slightly downhill stretch of road at 50 mph! I don't drive on the highway at 50 mph. Now if I can drive, let's say, 450 miles on 10 gallons of gas in my normal driving,
Then I'm interested. And thick motor oil is better? In an old worn engine, *maybe*, but in a newer car? Gotta use Torco? And: Just how much of this is due to fuel system cleanup in a badly neglected vehicle, like maybe that Mazda pickup? And who gets 17 mpg in a
Neon , for cryin' out loud? I sure don't! These days I rarely get 34 mpg, but
always get over 30 mpg in real world driving.
Still, someone who's wrong about many things can still be right about something else. A pint of acetone from Walgreens should only cost about $3. At about 3 oz per 12.5 gal tank, I could try 5 tanks or so pretty cheap. If I do, I'll report back here how it works. Hmm...actone & Fuel Power, mebbe?
