Toyota echo 2001 lower left side control arm rubber bushing was worn out ..installed a new control arm ;new bushings and ball joints are part of the new arm ..unbolt and install new arm is very simple but ....now my steering wheel is not straight,i think i need a wheel alignment ..car stays in the center of the road when i take my hand off the wheel ..

your thoughts on this issue

An alignment after all that is expected -very expected.
I'd do it.
For a quick fix yourself, adjust one tie rod in, and the other out [BY THE SAME AMOUNT], until the wheel is straight.

But get it checked, at least. Camber may be off as well as toe.
