I want to powder coat my bikes and need to purchase a crank removal tool.

Will this suffice?

If it's a newer bike it could be a square taper crank. That one you linked to would probably work. Here's another one that should work, if you have that type of crank.

Bikes are both newer. All 2005+ with newer components.

you should post a picture of the cranks. They could be square taper, isis, octalink, x-tpe, eccentric etc. Some of them require a different tool. Look at this article (3 pages) and see if you can identify yours. Yours are probably on page 2.

The main thing here is that:

Octalink and ISIS use the same crank puller.

X-Type normally does not require a crank puller, as it is "part" of the crank bolt assembly. You'll know if you have an X-Type crankset as the bearings for the bottom bracket will be external to the frame.

Square taper requires a unique crank puller.
