Wow the 5w40 specs look really good.. better HTHS than the 0w40. The NOACK number, is higher the better or vice versa? Has anyone seen the 5w40 in the US or Canada? Is this a new oil?

Also the spec sheet under Global is a lot more detailed than the North America section.

Is the "global" 0w40 the same oil as the "North American" one?

Lower Noack is better. The number represents how much of the oil is "cooked off" when it is heated.

Yeah, I just did a search.. I guess the European 5w40 is the Delvac 1 formula here in North America then? Too bad it's $11/L compared to $7.25 for the 0w40 here in Canada..

And it only comes in 4L jugs..

On Mobil 1 USA specifications the passenger vehicle oil specs are dated February 2003, for Delvac 1 the date is November 2002.

I like the more detailed spec sheets. They make a 5w-40 for gas engines. has good specs.
