BSIAB, I like that, beats Snake Oil

Interesting comments about oil consumption. In cars it seems that we all strive for little or no oil consumption (implies a well operating engine, yet he empahsizes that,at least in airplane engines, some oil consumption is good.

Keep in mind aircraft engines, particularily air cooled type are based on 1930's design technology.

Loose tolerences are the norm for a powerplant that is designed to run at a constant RPM and power settings.

The carryover from a light aircraft engine to a modern automotive engine is apples and oranges.

This is an interesting read. It has oil analysis ,mobil syn oil info about the sludging problem some oil asked about in a post and about snake oils. I like this kind of info.

New soon to be released advertizing:

"Try our new Telflonocote engine oil treatment!! It's more than just BSIAB! It's BSI your engine!!"

That was a fun article to read. I like salty old dogs who do things logically and don't put up with **** from anyone. BSIAB will definitely be remembered, I'm going to have to try to use it here.
