i read online the only thing the stealer sells now is something called autotrac and that all they recomend and its blue in color

+1 If it recommends the GM fluid do not substitute anything as it has a clutch. If it is AWD and has a chain & gearset Tcase with no clutches and calls for DEXIII then use a synthetic multi vehicle ATF like Mobil1 or Amsoil. DO NOT use DEXVI in that application. My guess is you need the GM fluid if it is an auto-trak TCase. But make sure you go to a dealer and find out for sure.

What is the reason that DEX VI should not be used as a replacement for the DEX III in a transfer case with a chain??

When the chain broke in my transfer case, the shop put it back together with some cheap AutoZone ATF. Since then, it feels like I am pulling a car until it gets warmed up a little.

The last chain lasted 180K, so I am hoping to get 200K out of the next.
