Hard to argue with results like that, why not try extending the OCI next time? I'd shoot for a nice even 5,000 miles and send in another sample for analysis.

prspect:

Could I beg you to post a second copy of this in text format?
It would suck for this one to disappear in two years.

prspect06 nice UOA.

TomJones76 here you go. I hope nobody minds. If someone objects let a Mod know and they can delete my post.

code:

2003 WRX Mobil 1 10W30 3511 miles.

Blackstone Comments: Amended report to correct engine type. No problems

showed up here. All wear read below averages for this type

of engine, which is a very good indication of normal wearing

parts and careful operation. The universal averages show

normal wear after 4700 miles on the oil. Insolubles (oil

oxidation due to heat, use and blow-by) were low at 0.2%,

showing good oil filtration. No fuel dilution or anti-freeze

was found. Silicon was normal at 2 ppm, so your air filtration

is still getting the job done. Looks good at 33,146 miles. Check

back to establish trends.

Deja vu prspect06 (nabisco).

Maybe M1 5W30 would stay in grade a little better since it's thicker than the 10W30.

AndyH, I missed your GC post. Thanks for linking that. I'll be sending in my 7,400 mile OCI on Gold GC soon. The viscosity on my Green GC winter of 04/05 was 64.8 and I had 1% fuel dilution (5 mile daily trips).

The viscosity of your Mobil 1 10W-30 held up better than all of the oils I've run thus far in my STi:

My viscosity held up.

Maybe because I added 1/2 qt. of make-up oil.

My report.

Other than that, a very nice report.
And nice seeing you guys on other forums
