This engine may have some sludge if it was poorly maintained. You may want to be careful with a strong cleaning oil, watch the oil and be ready to change it on a shorter OCI. Alternative could be to blend a syn and work your way up to full strength one qt at a time.
I would suggest PU, should find it locally.
I blend RL in my changes, and purchased a case mail order some years back.

Any good SN oil will do a good job cleaning over time. Use whatever you like. PYB, PP, PU might have a little more, but I'm not sure it will be a big difference.

Ultra, M1. I think Ultra is a really good oil. It's a shame they don't make a 0w20/30 and update their PDS's.

The Amsoil/Redline oils will clean very well too. Lot of calcium in both.

I'd be all over PU in 0W20 and 0W30. I don't understand the delay? Wake up SOPUS!
