"Utilizing a full synthetic oil and oil sampling, it is completely feasible to see 100,000 mile oil change intervals."

The same way its possible (with fuel sampling) to drive forever without refueling your car.

This has been discussed previously....it's a bypass filter

I think this is the guy that thought of the idea....Frantz? http://www.frantzoil.com/TOILETPAPER.html [censored], he even is marketing his own TP out of the idea :p But it seems the "TP" of choice is "Scott" - you don't want the "AngelSoft" stuff that leaves flakes on your behind when you wipe, you want the stuff that feels like sandpaper on your behind

http://www.cumminsforum.com/articles/art...lter/Page1.html another page, geared towards diesels..

But yes, this "Frantz oil filter" has been posted previously...basically the idea, is 3,000 mile "Toilet Paper Filter" changes....and basically, by the time you crack that shell open, take out that glob of toilet paper and clean up the mess inside of the canister, you're gonna be down a quart or 2 of oil.....so, you then top off with "FRESH" motor oil....

The new motor oil then replenishes the TBN, etc....

In theory anyways

I read stories of guys doing 20-30k oil changes with these "bypass filters" too....

Yea, definitely gotta sample the oil.....and wow, that Honda UOA is amazing too.....would be interesting to get a setup like that in a vehicle
