As others have mentioned, you need to consider the torque of the fasteners you're going to torque.
I reread your first post. If you're replacing a valve cover gasket, I think 1/2" drive torque wrench will likely be useless, as it won't go low enough.
Remember, torque wrenches from most brands are rated at 20% - 100% of scale. For example, a 10 - 100 lb ft torque wrench will really only be useable at 20 lb ft or above.
