the suv in question is a 2008 crv. the manual says 4.4 quarts of oil but ive read and heard that the capacity is 5.3 quarts. can some one verify this? this is my cousins vehicle i usually put 4.5 qts and it puts it halfway between low and full.

If you put in 1/2 quarts less than capacity in winter months the oil will get to operating temperature quicker, in spring pour in 1/2 quart.
