http://www.fitchfuelcatalyst.com/ anybody been using this? Or is this obsolete now that we have 10-15% ethanol in our gas now?

They state that the mileage is supposedly gains of up to 2-3mpg?

No need for fuel additives ever again? I personally am pleased with lucas UCL and and MMO but would the fuel catalyst really work better than paying for the 32oz and smaller bottles every so often???

i'll go out on a limb and call b.s., if it worked as they say they would be in every auto parts store and the oem sector would incorporate a similar system on new cars.

This...

Its like any "new break through" if it was so advanced and great it would be in every auto store around, its not, and even though I don't know anyone who has used it, I can say it likely wont do anything.

From their website:

"The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is NOT an additive. It is a long term fuel treatment offering a number of benefits:
Insure Fuel Quality During Storage"

I only buy products from companies that know the difference between insure and ensure.

Yeah, duh. It's something that stays in the tank or you put inline in the fuel line.

I was just asking if anyone has used it that's all.

How long does the Fitch Fuel Catalyst last?
250,000 operating miles or 5,000 operating hours depending on the engine

Crazy.....so it's got a life span. Curious how it actually "works" other than it being a "catalyst".... what is it, just yet another "filter" that the fuel goes through?

From reading it, sounds a lot like a "reverse osmosis" or "ion exchange" deal.....

What's funny, is there's actually a catalyst page on wikipedia, that points to the following article:
Market Report: Global Catalyst Market, 2nd Edition that reports that "catalysts" in automotive use are soon to be in an "uprise" of some sort...

Furthermore, a Bio Diesels Forum seems to have sparked a large discussion regarding "Fuel catalysts" in general; YES, apparently there ARE actually more than the "Fitch Catalyst" on the market...lol.

I also found a Google Cache copy from fuelsaving.info, which appears to either be offline, or document moved..... http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.fuelsaving.info/catalysts.htm

Nearly every parts store down here sells one of the tin based catalysts, that installs like a fuel filter, and supposedly does something...a LOT of people use them and claim good results.

I've got a research paper from the tin research institute in my work desk that sort of indicates something...or suggests something, and there's some anecdotal evidence from WWII...but.

I got some tin at the scrapyard, made pellets, made a canister, and installed it in multiple cars 15 years ago with absolutely no effect...I even bought a small engine fitch that has been in my lawnmower for years...no effect.

One of their claims is that the tin protects the valves like lead did, but the concetrations have to be so low as useless.

I HAVE used catalysts in fuel, one was a liquid spray (Holt's redkote), and another FPC (Fuel Performance Catalyst) that are liquid additives that don't come remotely close to paying for themselves.

Bit of discussion here
