Hello again and does anyone remember the article on a kid from MA, that had a 93' Mustang with a junkyard 302 from a Mercury Mountaineer, and a T5 transmission? I was reading that article last night when looking up something for my real dad and I was a little surprised to find that the kid used Mobil 1 10w30 oil in the T5 manual transmission. Anyone else have that kind of luck with a manual transmission? The article kinda made me laugh and just say "oh well, it works."

Isn't Dexron spec?

I've had several RWD truck trannies that take Dex or motor oil.

Dex is a little thinner than 10w30.

Dont know Eljefino, just stating what I read in the article. The kid said that after he mated the engine to the trans, while test driving the Stang, he had a kinda rough shift from 2nd to 3rd. He went to advance auto parts for something and saw a lone qt of Mobil 1 oil on the shelf, so he bought it, later bought few more qts and put that in the trans. He said with that in it, the rough shift went away completely.
