Boraticus: "I'd like to know the last time anyone on this forum heard of a motorcycle blowing up due to the type or brand of oil used in it's engine?"

AMEN !! I am as big an oil nut and "oil-a-holic" as they come, but when you get down to reality, darn near ANY reasonable oil
will work very well, excluding abuse or a damaged engine. About the only measureable risks are radically moving away from the mfr's recommended viscosity and using "Energy Conserving" car oil with in a bike with a wet clutch.

I would guess that a tiny fraction of a percent of bikes are ever really "worn out". 99.8% of them die from something other than just being worn to failure. Excluding accidents, I would bet that 97% of them are "killed" by electrical, fuel system or internal breakage NOT related to oil failure.

But, hey! It is fun to game the system !
