So, I am not finding any good used bikes on CL. People want $200 for very old bikes that still may require some work/tuneup. I think I'd rather get a brand new bike for not much more. I know people look down on Schwinn/Pacific Cycles, but honestly, my 2005 Sidewinder from Walmart has served me well over the years.
I mainly bike near my house, mostly paved trails, streets, and occasional limestone/hard non-paved trails. I want something that's fairly light and comfortable.
Which of these two bikes would be a better fit?

The first one appears to have a more upright riding position and has shocks, but with the type of riding I do, shocks may not be necessary. Not sure about the rest of the components - they appear similar to me, but I'm not an expert.
Anything else in the $250 price range (new) that I should consider?
