Wheel Lug Nuts vs Bolts.

The D.O.T. won't allow the chasing of a thread on a hub. I had a Dayton type truck wheel loosen up (the one that looks like a star shaped hub with clamps holding the rim onto it) and hammered the stud loose and had to replace the whole hub, as the shop wouldn't retap the hole that had the last 2 threads a little flattened. I imagine you'd have similar issues with the bolted on wheel in an automotive application.
 
Dont you all know us german car owners just call road side assistance when we get a flat tire??? LOL.

I am slowly finding out VW does not want you to do ANYTHING to their cars but put fuel in it and drive!

While I have not had to change a wheel yet, I think I should be able to do it the same way I do all wheels. Sit on the ground, put the wheel on top of my feet and move/hold it up with my feet while I line up the holes with my hands.
