I am submitting on behalf of a friend.

Previous OCIs recommended by his BMW dealership (OLM?) have been approximately 10k miles. As I recall, at some point during one of these intervals he was concerned with oil he saw on the dipstick....thick was I think the word he used.

So this very short OCI was an over reaction to his 'fears'

It may appear that way but it's still a low number and falls into the "noise range" for an inexpensive UOA.

For the OP, I really don't what he can learn from such a short OCI.
If the Toromont KV100 figure is accurate this oil has sheared about 12%

*If* the numbers had been 'high' for such a short OCI then he might have reason to be a bit anxious but as you say some of these stats #s may well be just noise.

Anyways next time I see the owner I will advise him to lengthen significantly the OCI and then sample.

Coming from a 10K OCI he samples @ 2,000 miles? Lol.

Should have at least put on 8k before sampling to see the condition of the oil after a "normal" oil run.

Looks like 30 grade oil. I hear the Winters are cold in Canada ... and the oil ... thick.

I don't know who started that rumor but it's patently untrue!
