I have a 409 Chevy motor. Used original, all OEM, not blown or worn out. It is the lower 340? horsepower motor. All there with manifolds, water pump, pan, and carb. What would a fair price be on the market? This could just go in and start right up in a car. It is a 63 vintage.

Ok. The truck engines are not as sought after as the car engines. Plus the valves in the truck heads are smaller.

Price depends on what somebody is willing to pay for having Kool. Be worth a bunch more if it was a 2x4 from a car.

IMO I would pay 1k for it if I was wanting a 409.

I have a twin turbo Daytona Marine 427 Chevy I'll trade ya!

Yeah I got several of the 409 and 425 motors and parts. I have three of the truck motors and a complete tri power 348 first year production motor.

Those "W" engines were pretty strange. The combustion chamber is in the block! The heads are flat where the valves are and the top of the block where the head gasket goes is cut at an angle so not every machine shop can bore one.

In HS a friends dad was into 409's and that's where I got familiar with them.
