Summer blend

When does Summer blend gas typically return and winter blend gas leave? I was thinking about this when I filled up today and I realized I have no idea when this happens every year , I just know it does.

It's mandated that summer blends be on retail sale by June 1. In order to ensure compliance, it's required that terminals and other "upstream" facilities meet these regs by May 1. That means the refineries will start production in March or April, to ensure they've completed the transition in time.

Unless you have a required oxygenate that goes away, unlike E10 in many places, RVP changes are gradual and you probably won't notice with fuel injection. Depending on your glass half/full/empty POV, many of us have "winter gas" all the time.
