Hit a curb with relatively-new tires...

I agree with the get a tire store to look at it advice. Generally if you didn't break the exterior surface thereby exposing the innards, you should be fine.

The goose egg is torn sidewall belts, DON'T DRIVE FAST to the tire shop & GET IT REPLACED! Hopefully your road hazard will cover it-if that happened to me the spare would go on for the trip to the tire shop!

I understood the goose egg to be on the car itself. If bullwinkle's interpretation is correct and the tire has a goose egg, his advice is absolutely correct. Go the the tire store right away drive like grandma on the way there.

It was my mistake gentlemen, I thought I had felt of a goose-egg once returning home from said curb run in, but after re-inspecting it appears to be a slight indention on the sidewall from the wheel to the tread. It can barely be seen, but what I remembered the feel and had thought it to be a good-egg, when it was in fact not.
