does anyone on here know of anybody mixing these oils and having an oil analysis done. im thinking of doing this and was curious if it was a good idea or not.
The VR1, being an oil meant for race engines, will have a lot more anti-wear additives and much less detergent additives. The Synpower is just a thick oil.
Is it a good/bad idea? Depends on what you're going for.
It's fine to mix if you dont put it in anything. I would say most 20w-50 use a trad add pack (ZDDP/Ca) and you should be ok. One of the best mixes Ive had (ET/smoothness but no uoa) was Valvoline synpower 10w-30 syn and Mobil 4T Racing, 3/1. Sure ya wannaneeda Fitty?
