This is an interesting report. You've tried a number of oils and viscosities. One of your best reports is with the thinnest oil. It appears to me that your wear numbers track with your silicon numbers more than anything else.

Very nice website too!

If any of that ULX had oxidized during that period, all that moly may have been a detriment. Abrasive by-products of the reaction.

Silicon has trended upward over the last 16K. Have you checked the air intake system? Changed air filter? Are you using an oiled filter?

I'm may be new, but those Moly numbers are about 4 times what I've seen in other results when you used the havoline and the ulx-110

And what do you think about the slowly increasing lead numbers?

Here are 8 samples from my Toyota V8. It's a 4.0 litre V8 with quad overhead cams and 32 valves. Standard Lexus V8 as in early model LS400's. I have a Toyota Soarer Coupe - sort of a two door version of LS400. There is a pic of the car on my site planetsoarer.com.
Not much to report. All samples have been ok. Very high moly in Havoline and ULX-110.
My Aluminium jumped in last test with ULX-110.
I'm averaging 3k mile per sample - I reckon I will try the Amsoil and steel myself to leave it in there longer!
This is a great site - I am learning a lot - why oil may appear thicker and some shortcomings of the Castrol Lab reports I get.
I don't get viscosity at 100 or TBN.
I have listed some bits and pieces on my oil page - I'll be adding more links to this place for sure - this site is a terrific source of information - very well done.
I post all my oil stuff on the web for the other Soarer guys to browse here:
http://planetsoarer.com/OilAnalysis/OilAnalysis.htm
Oil capacity is approx 5.25 litres.
The car was imported from Japan - so I don't know what was in the car when I got it - I just called the oil type Japan for the first sample.
I will try to post the oil results in neat table format here.
All comments are welcome.
best regards
Peter Scott
