Looks pretty good. Is that grit on the end cap from cutting the filter?

What's the bypass valve look like?

It looks like a exactly like Motorcraft. Silicon ADBV sits the same way on top very snug.

I've been using Bosch filters and appreciated seeing the inside view - thank you. Looks like a good filter and I will keep using them.

What is the MC equivalent? Is this an FL-400S application? Doesn't the 400S have a thread-end coil spring bypass valve? Where is the bypass valve on this Bosch...I can't tell from the pics.

I ran this oil filter for 3500 miles. Just couldn't wait to open since this is the first time I used a Bosch.

Cool! I've got the Distance Plus version of this filter waiting to go in my wife's MKX at the 51,000 mile oil change. Should be another 2 months or so. Then in another 4-5 months we'll see what that looks like inside! :)

It does look like a Motorcraft and a Purolator;since Bosch owns Purolator and what I understand are they one's calling the shots. I have heard people say that Purolator owns Bosch, whereas they are 180 degrees off. I would direct any questions to 'Katrina Hull Sr. Tech Specialist at Robert Bosch, Germany'. Her email address is [email protected]

She gave me the information concerning Purolator premium filters vs Group 7 filters, which are the same. Instead of speculating and guessing, why not ask the top shelf? Just FYI here is the information that she gave me concerning Group 7; very nice person.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your inquiry with Purolator. I do apologize for the delay in contact with you. The Group7 filters are a product of Purolator, therefore is simply a private brand that we manufacture. These filters are the same internally and are also the equivalent to the OE, therefore, the V4011 is the equivalent to the L24011.

I hope this information helps.

Your business is greatly appreciated.

Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Katrina S. Hull
