The color of the oil does not indicate how well it cleaned or how robust the oil is. Its nothing more than a color change.


i would think going from clear to almost black would be a good indication of particles in suspension.maybe opacity would be a better term than "color change".i know when i am doing an extended o.c. i change out the filter halfway thru.after the filter change the oil will lighten in color/opacity.so something is happening.i think particle removal is what is happening.so a color change can indicate performance.IMO.lol
