Exmark 10w30/30 synthetic oil. Formulated for use in air cooled and liquid cooled gas and diesel engines.

From the back of the bottle:
No viscosity improvers to shear down.
Cold start advantages of multi-grade.
High temp advantages of single grade.
Advanced additive package helps prevent corrosion from long-term storage.
Commercial quality for severe service.

API - SL, SJ, SH, SG, CI-4, CF, CD
Wet clutch compatible - JASO MA/MA2.

Looks like it could be a good choice for us flat tappet croud.
$5.99 qt. retail.

Wonder who makes it? EM makes there syn hydro oil. Older version of 15w50.

They had an MSDS up on their site for a little while, but it has been removed now. I wish I knew who made it for them. On the front of the bottle it talks about added ZDDP's that are not found in automotive oils. I guess they are addressing the flat cam issue found in most air cooled engines while also providing one oil to cover all the engine options they have available.

I am not sure who makes it for them now, but at one time it was CITGO.

While all that stuff on the back looks impressive, API SG, CF, and CD are obsolete specs.

It is probably a decent oil, but $5.99 sounds a little steep to me. Not sure what the cost is, but a gallon bottle of the Shell T5 10W-30 synthetic blend would be an excellent oil for all the air cooled applications, plus I believe it might meet the JASO specs listed.

The company making their 10W30 oil is Lubrication Technologies in Minnesota.

This oil seems to be similar to Amsoil's ase or asd.

Where did you hear that Exxon Mobil makes their hydro oil?

To doitmyself:

Well, I was told their hydro oil was an older versioin on Mobil 1 15w50. I'm pretty sure he said it was made by EM, but I'm a little fuzzy on that detail. The guy that told me was an area manager for Exmark who's been with them for 15 years. We are a local dealer at my level, so I don't know a lot about their oil products. I do know they always used and recommended M1 till they changed the formulation. Said it shortend the life of the hydros, so they had them rebottle the old version for them. It sells for $9 a quart, so there could be some truth to that.
