This is really a shot in the dark. Does anybody know what Dexter axle uses for bearing grease at the factory? I had to field service six hubs and could not completely clean out all the old grease. I am hoping the new grease is compatible with the factory blue stuff that Dexter used. I'm fairly certain that there won't be a problem, but if it wasn't for bad luck.......

Deter uses lithium base grease...any of the same should be ok. BTW I've never seen blue grease in any of the Dexters I've packed and it has been a bunch.

Thanks for the information. I have 52 5500lb Dexters and they all had blue grease when I pulled them apart for their first service. It was apparently lithium base, as indicated, of no special qualities as the trailer I field serviced hasn't had any problems. I had intended to service the bearings the following week and clean everything very well as I usually do. It didn't work out that way so those hubs have had a mixture in them. Every once in a while something does work
