That is a great history. I met a few members of the Mobil 1 formulation team at an SAE meeting last year. We had some fun discussions about racing formulations.

They now list their 5w20, 10w30 and 5w30 as Racing Oils.

Those prices are a rip, you can get it cheaper if you shop around. Still waiting for the datasheet for 0w50 to go up.
I saw Mobil 1 Racing on Amazon for 10 dollars a quart recently

LOL. At least we know the 0w40 is used by some racing bodies, so that's not totally out of line...

Actually they don't, they just offer them for sale on the same site.
