I and it seems 100's possibly thousands of other people are having the same problem with our TJ jeeps, early failure of the centering yoke portion of double cardan cv joint(FT driveshaft)
Everyones story is the same it develops a chirp.
When disasembled it is found to be dry. It has no grease fitting but can be lubed when disasembled.
I dont know if washout, inadequate or inferior lube is the problem it sould not be happening being that it is a sealed unit.Anyway I am going to try and combat the problem by using a quality synthetic grease.
I have easy access to the following greases

Royal Purple Ultra Performance #2
Quaker State Ultra Premium Synchron

I am not a Grease Guru and don't pretend to be
Since I must dissasemble the ujoints(sealed) to acess the centering yoke i will repack them also.
No where on the packaging of the above grease's
or web site does it state ujoints.
Would these two be a good long term choice
for my applications.
