Giving away my pop up camper. Pulled off a cap to inspect the bearings and grease. Grease is kinda hardened, smells old but it is still grease. Seems like some oil seperated from the grease and now there is an oily film on the bearings and inner hub. The grease is still tacky, pretty good for 15 year old grease. My brother is pickin this thing up and i dont think he will repack the hubs till they make noise. There is enough grease inside to go for a few years before they need repacking. So do i be a nice guy and repack them or just leave the old stuff in and let him take care of it. I do have some high temp grease i could shoot in there. Maybe i should use auto rx to flush these babys out

Have it pulled apart just in time for him to get there so he can help you pack the bearings so he can leave with it. That way you know it got done yet can make him get dirty.

A rather elegant solution to the problem, DJ!

Personally, I'd be just as afraid of the 15 year old tires on the thing unless you've had them replaced.
