until you have to buy parts. i have said this be fore, but i just to cause trouble. a friend had a bmw, needed a tie rod assy. form bmw it was $350. got one from trw for $75.00 when he opened the box the part was in a bmw plastic

Yes,but "holding it's resale value" is a financial red herring.

To wit,You buy a BMW for $60,000. 5 years later it's worth $30,000. You're out $30,000. I buy an Accord for $22,000. 5 years later it's worth $10,000. I'm out only $12,000. I saved $18,000 over 5 years, because I don't need to drive "Shock Value".
