Castrol lists their hths figures based on the CEC L-36-A-87 test. Since no one else uses this I have no idea how their oils compare to others which have published hths specs for ASTM D4683. What's the general relationship between them?

Hi,
ACEA use CEC L-036-90 2nd Edition (Ravensfield) as the Test Protocol. Technically any lubricant quoting an ACEA rating should have been tested to that Standard allowing for obsolesence of course

Castrol's website in OZ lists the HTHS viscosity but not the Standard used - naughty of BP eh?
