What is special about CV Joint Grease? I just purchased a CV Boot Kit for my ATV, and my service manual states to use ONLY the CV joint grease type in the kit. Problem is, its going to take about twice as much supplied, since the grease in the joint itself is contaminated.
I have on hand a couple of greases, a Multi-Purpose Synthetic Lithium Complex, and a Heavy Duty Synthetic with Moly. Both are NLGI #2, and from AMSoil.
Are either of these greases OK to use, and if so, should I use just one of these, or can I mix with the supplied grease in the kit?
