Ok, i don't want to get into a big discussion about it, but i need two greases. One automotive grease for my 02 civic ex 5 speed, and one marine grease for my honda turbo jetski. I basically want to know which grease products offer the best protection with bearings and joints.

You can use an alum complex for both applications as you can use lithium for both.

I recommend to my customers the Schaeffers 221 #2 as it is water proof and generally the right amount of thickener used for northern and mid states area. Down south, you could use 238 or 221 #2. Thing to watch for in over the counter alum complex greases is the amount of thickener used.

what are some good otc greases that i can purchase at auto stores? How often do i have to grease my fittings?

I thought Honda's had sealed bearings and ball-joints? At least my '88 and '91's did.

#2 is what you'd want. #1 is a thinner tac and is used more in automatic lubers as the 0, and 00 grades do which favor's thinner tac for easier flow.

#1 should never be used down south in any automotive application.
