Thinking of getting a Generac iX 2000 inverter generator.

Does anyone have any experience with this model. Any problems, or preventative maintenance that should be given attention.

Thanks in advance for any information.

No kidding.

If you don't want to shell out the big bucks for a Honda or Yamaha inverter generator, there are better choices than the Generac.

I know people who own Kipor and Boliy inverter gensets and they're happy with them. They're a bit more expensive than the Generac but no where near the price of Honda and Yamaha.

After a year of use, a buddy of mine had an oil leak problem with his Boliy and brought it to me to fix. It was a simple matter of tightening the valve cover. Other than that, no problems.

Ever considered one of these?

The B&S looks good. Small engine though at 105ccs. However, I'm sure they have it figured out. Good price compared to Honda and Yamaha. I'd definitely look at one if I were in the market.

Any bets on where it's made?

Yeah me either. A lot of their industrial stuff and commercial generators are really good, but their consumer line is just.. junk. They just re-badge whatever they get from china and roll with it.

I agree their very large industial generators seem ok, but even the larger engines they supply to dixie chopper are junk, no wonder there name is as close to generic as possible
