Any VW 504.00 North American Oil Known to Exist

VW 504.00 is a great spec is there not a single 5w30 American blend that meets it.

504.00 is a gas engine spec correct (507 = diesel)

According to this 3 year old document Castrol Edge 5W-30 meets the 504 spec-

That VW document is citing the European Castrol Edge 5W-30 and not the U.S. Castrol Edge.

The Castrol that meets the 504/507 is SLX Professional LL03 and not the Professional OE. Professional OE carried the 505.01 spec.

Both the Castrol and Mobil ESP are imported from Europe.

Mobil sells their Mercedes Benz 5W-40 ESP which MIGHT be alright in a 504/507 application and it's made in the North America. And Amsoil has recently introduced their 504/507 product but it carries no builder approvals.

So it appears that there are no oil companies making a 504/507 oil on U.S. soil that carries the VW builder approval.

I would use this: Amsoil AEL 5W-30 HTHS of 3.7!

Robert, that Mobil product is a European import. I think the OP is asking about oils actually produced here in the USA. I may be misunderstanding the topic though.
