Thought this would be interesting.

Curious what everyones owner manual states is the recommended oil change interval no matter what vehicle brand and year you drive.

06 Toyota Tundra 4.7 V8. Toyota recommends 5000 miles or 6 months.

91 Toyota pickup 3.0 V6. Toyota recommends for Severe conditions every 3750 miles or 6 months. Or Normal Conditions 7500 miles or 12 months. I've followed the severe condition schedule since I bought it new.

06 Tacoma 1grfe 5k 6mo
06 4 runner Same same
I am ignoring(or stretching) the time limit and simply going by the odometers for simplicity.

I would have thought the OCM would be smart enough to keep track of the months as well. Or does it just alarm at 12 months if the engine use calculation does not alarm before that?

Engine Oil Life System
When to Change Engine Oil
Your vehicle has a computer system that lets you
know when to change the engine oil and filter. This is based on engine revolutions and engine temperature, and not on mileage. Based on driving conditions, the mileage at which an oil change will be indicated can vary considerably. For the oil life system to work properly, you must reset the system every time the oil is changed.
When the system has calculated that oil life has been diminished, it will indicate that an oil change is necessary. A change engine oil message in the DIC will come on. Change your oil as soon as possible within the next 600 miles (1 000 km). It is possible that, if you are driving under the best conditions, the oil life system may not indicate that an oil change is necessary for over a year. However, your engine oil and filter
must be changed at least once a year and at this time the system must be reset.

• GM4718M
Your vehicle’s engine requires a special oil meeting GM Standard GM4718M. Oils meeting this
standard may be identified as synthetic. However,
not all synthetic oils will meet this GM standard.
You should look for and use only an oil that meets
GM Standard GM4718M.
Notice: If you use oils that do not have the
GM4718M Standard designation, you can cause
engine damage not covered by your warranty.

Your vehicle’s engine is filled at the factory with a Mobil 1® synthetic oil, which meets all requirements for your vehicle.

No, after 12 months goes by and the OLM light didn't come on, it won't. In other words, it doesn't keep track of time the oil has been in the crankcase.

2003 BMW 330Ci

Service indicator based on gallons of fuel used. About 15000 miles.
oil change after 668 gallons on the automatic and 601 gallons for the manual transmission.

At 16091 miles the service idicator showed 425 miles to service. At 31652 it showed 625 miles to service. Dealer suggests service when the mileage gets to 500.

I change it at 5-6000 miles.
