I have about 8 oz of a gun cleaner called "Ed's Red" that's equal parts acetone, kerosene, mineral spirits and ATF. It's pretty old (~6 years or so), and I've mixed a new batch.

So here's my rather odd question- I was thinking of dumping it in my lawnmower gas instead of going all the way to the hazardous chemicals drop off place. Anyone see any major issue with it? I assume it'll smoke a little because of the ATF, but the rest seem like they'd either just drop the octane a little, or be beneficial.

I know that mineral spirits burns very very hot in an engine and might warp parts of it.
If you dilute it with gasoline a whole bunch I wouldn't see a problem.

Why not just dump it in your next batch of used motor oil that you take to the recycler? Nothing in there (like antifreeze) that will hose the recycling process and you're safely rid of it.
