Was in local wallys and was buyin oil and filter for an old work truck. I looked in the box to examine the filter on the ACDelco pf61 ecore. I saw a section of about 2-3 pleats that were very very far apart. So i picked up another to look and it looked the same as well as 2 others. After looking at four filters i just picked on an left. It is for a beater anyway. But each one had really wide pleat gaps, just seemed lame as ive always looked inside and never seen a Delco with this much spacing, ecore or not.

That is what i do...I use the group 7 oil filters i get here in the shop they are purolators which are good enough

I cut open a PF46 which I think is a short version of the 61. I have had no issue with Delco or ST E-core. There's a picture I posted of the 46 on this site.
Maybe you can buy some Purolator Classics and with the rebate they are very cheap.
